Two bad CEO’s elevator pitches (Yahoo and AOL)

As the CEO of a startup you should know Elevator Pitch by heart – even if somebody wakes you up at 3am at night or if you are standing in a bar after three cocktails. Please keep this in mind: You might never get a second chance to get the attention from a customer or an investor.
Here are two good (well, bad) examples of CEO’s pitches. They don’t represent startups. They do represent two large public companies – Yahoo and AOL:
They got a crystal clear question and a chance to spread out a clear message but both messed it up.
Here is my advice to all entepreneurs:
- Ask yourself – who is your company?
- Put the answer into your Elevator Pitch
- Try to answer in a Twitter-way (not more than 20 sec)
